FlipFlop is an online hotel exchange platform for hotel reservations that allows users to sell their unneeded hotel reservations to travelers looking for last minute deals. Our service allows for sellers to avoid paying cancellation fees while helping travelers find last minute deals.

Many hotel chains charge cancellation fees for guests who cancel their hotel reservation. To avoid these fees we have created FlipFlop; an online hotel exchange platform that allows people to sell their unneeded hotel reservation on ours site

Buying on FlipFlop

-Access to rooms that are already sold out- Given that we are a secondary marketplace you will find hotel rooms that are already sold out on other websites
-Cheaper prices- Many times are sellers will simply be trying to recoup as much of their initial investment as they can and avoid cancellation fees. This means that they will be selling their rooms below their market price

We give the seller the discretion to the set the price. Since the seller is trying to get rid of the room the price will typically be well below the market price listed on another website

Taxes are not listed in the initial price you see. However, when you go to the checkout page they will be included

The technology we use at FlipFlop allows us to automatically check if each reservation posted is valid and reject any reservation that is not valid from ever reaching our site

Depending on the situation. It will depend on your reservations cancellation policy and the hotel. If you wish to cancel your reservation let us know and we will try to make any changes we can.

Selling on FlipFlop

There’s a couple of reasons:
– Avoid paying cancellation fees that the hotel chain will charge you when you cancel your reservation
– Buy a room with the idea of selling it for more money down the line

We only approve rooms that are non-refundable and prepaid. A reservation may also not be approved for security or technical reasons If we’re unable to approve your room, you’ll receive an automatic email explaining why. If you would still like further clarification please contact us.

The price is completely up to the seller. Typically we recommend selling below market value, as this will lead to your room standing out compared to rooms on other websites.

Listing your room on FlipFlop is free. When your room sells FlipFlop will take 10% of the sale price.

You’ll get paid within 7 days after your reservation’s check-out date. Depending on your bank and the payment method you selected this time can be sooner!

We suggest using PayPal which transfers your funds within 5 hour, with rates subject to PayPal’s terms and conditions. Another option that we offer is payment through wire transfer. This will typically take 5 days and has fees between $5-$25. Whichever method you choose FlipFlop will make sure that it runs smoothly. If you have more questions or any special requests please contact us.

You will be automatically notified via email when it is purchased.

No, each reservation is limited to one room. This will help to increase the chances of your room being sold!

We recommend you listing your reservation below the typical market price. It also has proven to be very helpful when sellers post about their reservations on social media

When the room is sold a team member from FlipFlop will contact the hotel and change
the reservation name

You can edit your listings by going to “My Account” and then clicking on the “My
Listings” tab
